Science Behind Herbalife
We are committed to setting the standard by which all nutrition companies are measured. In 2011 the company spent approximately $25 million on the combined scientific areas of R&D, technical operations, scientific affairs, quality assurance/quality control, product safety and compliance. Besides, we also spent an additional $11 million on nutrition affairs, product licensing and strategic sourcing.
Since 2003, we’ve increased our research and development expenditures dramatically to advance the product-development process. There are 180 scientists on our staff, of which 19 have PhDs. The company’s internal staff is supplemented with 30 consulting scientists, all with PhDs.
Herbalife Product and Science Centre
The state-of-the-art Herbalife Product and Science Centre was recently opened at the Herbalife Plaza in Los Angeles’ South Bay area. Under the leadership of Chief Scientific Officer Steve Henig, a team of distinguished and dedicated developers and scientists use advanced technology, including a high-tech sensory lab, to create Herbalife’s world-class products, putting Herbalife at the forefront of producing the best nutrition and weight-management products in the world.
